Save the new edited PDF locally with options to add information, password and  view preferences.

All the editing or filling will be saved directly into the original PDF.

1. Select Save as PDF button from Standard Toolbar.

2. Choose the options. You can just click Skip Options to avoid the options.

a) General Information:

Change the PDF document properties, including title, author, subject, keywords, created, creator, producer and PDF version information.

Title The title of the PDF document
Author The Author of PDF document
Subject The Subject of PDF document
Keywords The keywords of PDF document
Created The created data of PDF document
Creator The creator of PDF document
Producer The producer of PDF document
PDF Version PDF Version of PDF document
Form Data Printing Only Hide the original PDF Page for Printing Fields Only. It is useful when the pre-printed paper form is ready.
Form Data Flattening Original form data can be viewed but not edited
Form Data Export Click here to export into FDF, Txt and Excel.
Open PDF Open the new edited PDF file automatically.
You may need to check PDFill Options from Format menu => PDFill Options.
Use Adobe Fonts The text objects inside PDFill will be replaced by the Adobe built-in font name: COURIER, HELVETICA, TIMES ROMAN, SYMBOL and ZAPFDINGBATS

b) Encrypt and Decrypt: Protect your PDF files with password in different encryption level. Prevent PDF files from being printed, copied, changed,  extracted, signed, filled, assembled and/or merged.

User Password is used to open the PDF document

Owner Password is used to change security settings

Encryption Level

  • 40-bit RC4: Acrobat 3.0 and Later
  • 128-bit RC4: Acrobat 5.0 and Later

Security Options:

  • Printing:  Allow to print
  • Modify Contents:  Allow to modify
  • Copy:  Allow to copy or extract
  • Modify Annotations: Allow to add or modify annotations or form fields
  • Fill In:  Allow to input form field and signature (128-bit RC4 only)
  • Screen Readers:  Allow to enable accessibility (128-bit RC4 only)
  • Assembly:  Allow to modify document assembly (128-bit RC4 only)
  • Degraded Printing:  Allow to print degraded mode (128-bit RC4 only)

C) View Preference: Set the view options for the current PDF document.

  • The page layout to be used when the document is opened (choose one).
    • SinglePage - Display one page at a time.
    • OneColumn - Display the pages in one column.
    • TwoColumnLeft - Display the pages in two columns, with odd numbered pages on the left.
    • TwoColumnRight - Display the pages in two columns, with odd numbered pages on the right.
  • The page mode how the document should be displayed when opened (choose one).
    • UseNone - Neither document outline nor thumbnail images visible.
    • UseOutlines - Document outline visible.
    • UseThumbs - Thumbnail images visible.
    • FullScreen - Full-screen mode, with no menu bar, window controls, or any other window visible.
  • HideToolbar -  hide the viewer application's tool bars when the document is active.
  • HideMenubar - hide the viewer application's menu bar when the document is active.
  • HideWindowUI - hide user interface elements in the document's window (such as scroll bars and navigation controls), leaving only the document's contents displayed.
  • FitWindow - resize the document's window to fit the size of the first displayed page.
  • CenterWindow - position the document's window in the center of the screen.
  • The document's page mode, specifying how to display the document on exiting full-screen mode. It is meaningful only if the page mode is FullScreen (choose one).
    • UseNone - Neither document outline nor thumbnail images visible
    • Outlines - Document outline visible
    • UseThumbs - Thumbnail images visible

3. Save the edited PDF as a new PDF file.
 

FAQ. Problem when Saving the editing into PDF

Sorry that “my.pdf” can not be filled by PDFill! Exception in thread “main” Java.Lang String Index Out Of Bounds Exception Some Font name is empty and must be replaced by the most common fonts.
Install the most recent version.
Edit menu=> Change Text Object's Font Name=>
Select Times New Roman to replace all text fonts=> Click OK
Error Message: MacRoman [Could not load class: sun.io.ByteToCharMacRoman] From Menu Edit > Make All Original Text Fields Editable
Problem to Fill the PDF Form From Menu Edit > Delete all form fields, then type your text just like the old typewriter, then save your editing into a new PDF.
The filled data doesn't appear on the filled form. Or, The data is filled back into the original PDF file, but, it disappears after a few second. Or, the entire data is not filled into the form From PDF Saving Options > Select "Flattening" to make all the Form Fields read-only>Apply Options.

Or, From Menu Edit > Make Entire Original Fields Editable
I don't like the font name, size or color inside the PDF Form fields. From Menu Edit > Make Current Original Form Field Editable
