New Commenting (Annotation):
Line or Arrow Tool

A line annotation displays a single straight line on the page. When opened, it displays a pop-up window containing the text of the associated note.

Text String the content text string to be displayed for the annotation.
Spell Checker Verify the spelling of words in the text string box.
Author The author of the annotation.
Subject Text representing a short description of the subject being addressed by the annotation.
Thickness The thickness of the line.
Printable on PDF If clear, it will display and not print onto the page; If set, it will display and print onto the page.

Line Color

The color for the line.

Line Width

The line thickness.

Line Style

Solid: a solid rectangle surrounding the annotation.
Dashed
: a dashed rectangle surrounding the annotation. Dash is the line length in point; Gap is the distance in point between the dashed lines.

Fill Color On Ending

The interior color with which to fill the annotation’s line endings.

Opacity The constant opacity value to be used in painting the annotation. This value applies to all visible elements of the annotation in its closed state (including its background and border) but not to the popup window that appears when the annotation is opened. The opacity vary from 0.0 (no contribution) to 1.0 (maximum contribution).
Show Text As Caption

If true, the text specified by the Contents should be replicated as a caption in the appearance of the line. The text should be rendered in a manner appropriate to the content, taking into account factors such as writing direction.

Begin and End Style

the line ending styles to be used in drawing the line. From PDF Reference, 5th Edition, Page 593.

Leader Line Length

The length of leader lines in default user space that extend from each endpoint of the line perpendicular to the line itself. A positive value means that the leader lines appear in the direction that is clockwise when traversing the line from its starting point to its ending point; a negative value indicates the opposite direction.

Leader Line Extension

A non-negative number representing the length of leader line extensions that extend from the line proper 180 degrees from the leader lines, as shown in the example.

Position

the starting and ending (X,Y) coordinates of the line. You can enter the length or angle to adjust the second point.

Set this field as default

If set, the new object will have the same properties as this one.
